Mazinho dreams of Thiago-Rafinha reunion at Barca

Ex-Brazil midfielder Mazinho still harbours hopes of his sons Thiago Alcantara and Rafinha being reunited at Barcelona.

Thiago left Camp Nou to join Bayern Munich in 2013, while Rafinha is preparing to take part in the Olympics with Brazil having endured a season ruined by a cruciate knee ligament injury last term.

Speaking on Radio Barcelona, 1994 World Cup winner Mazinho said: I hope that one day Thiago can return to Barcelona.

He s a player with Barcelona DNA that he has had since his early days here and you never know – the football world has many twists.

The doors are always open to everything and who knows if one day we will be able to have the two of them here again.

There s no resentment [over selling Thiago to Bayern], quite the oppo…

Sturridge out to improve goals-per-game ratio

Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge is brimming with confidence ahead of the new season and aims to improve on his impressive goals-per-game ratio for the Anfield side.

The England international has netted 53 times in 92 appearances in all competitions since leaving Chelsea for Liverpool in 2013, establishing himself as a regular with club and country.

Sturridge found the back of the net on 13 occasions last season despite some injury problems, but now fully fit he has promised more goals in the years to come.

I think my goals-per-game ratio will be better [in 2016-17], Sturridge told the official Liverpool website.

It s important that I continue to focus myself, and with my team-mates and the new players we ve signed at the club it s possible to improve…

Neymar-like Trincao ready to make impact at Barcelona – Gomes

Francisco Trincao is similar to Neymar and is ready to make an impact at Barcelona, according to former Portugal international Nuno Gomes.

LaLiga champions Barca completed the €31million signing of Trincao in January but allowed him to stay at Braga for the rest of the 2019-20 season.

The 20-year-old, who was the joint-top scorer as Portugal won the European Under-19 Championship in 2018, has scored seven goals and supplied three assists in 18 Primeira Liga appearances this term, while also helping Braga beat Porto in the Taca da Liga final.

Nuno Gomes sees similarities between the left-footed Trincao and former Barca star Neymar and predicts his development will be rapid upon joining his new team-mates at Camp Nou.

Trincao is very good and he s very y…

Champions League is where Liverpool belong – Henderson

Liverpool still have work to do despite advancing to the group stage of the Champions League, according to captain Jordan Henderson, although he says Jurgen Klopp s men are back where they belong.

Emre Can s first-half brace helped Liverpool to record a 4-2 win against Hoffenheim in Wednesday s second leg, sending the Premier League side through 6-3 on aggregate.

Liverpool will now play in the Champions League group stage for the first time since 2014, much to Henderson s delight.

It has been a brilliant night, the atmosphere was brilliant all night and we were brilliant at the start and set the tempo, Henderson said to BT Sport.

We let in a couple of goals, so we have still got things to work on, but overall we re delighted to get back into the Champi…

Solskjaer says teams were wrong to snub chance of five Premier League substitutes

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has questioned why Premier League clubs voted against allowing managers to use five substitutions in games this season.

The Manchester United manager, famed as a super-sub in his playing days, was a big advocate of the system that was pushed through as a short-term measure for the closing weeks of the 2019-20 campaign after the COVID-19 shutdown.

He feels it could have helped to bolster the physical and mental wellness of players in the current campaign.

A vote in August saw the league revert back to the system where each team is only allowed to make three substitutions per game, yet five are permitted in the Champions League and Europa League.

Solskjaer said this season should have been considered on its exceptional merits and that…

Der Klassiker: How Kimmich and Goretzka have made Thiago a distant memory for Bayern

Losing Thiago Alcantara would be a crushing blow to most teams in the world, but Bayern Munich are not like most teams.

While the Spain star – having helped to inspire last season s treble triumph – is adjusting to Premier League life with Liverpool, his former employers have set about defending their three trophies with such authority that they scarcely seem to feel his absence.

Aside from the aberration of that 4-1 loss to Hoffenheim, which came only a month after the Champions League final win over Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern have won every match this season. That run of 11 wins in 12 games includes an 8-0 Bundesliga destruction of Schalke, victories in the UEFA Super Cup and DFL-Supercup and 12 goals scored in three Champions League matches.

Their most …

The First Descendant – Hotfix 1.0.3 Buffs Void Fragment Rewards, Lets You Disable Allied Effects

Magnum Studio and Nexon have released a meaty new hotfix for The First Descendant, addressing several issues. It adds an option to turn off special effects from allied players to allow for improved visibility when Gley is popping off.

The UI has also seen updates, indicating when you’ve obtained major rewards from a mission. You can also search for weapons in the Library by Firearm Type and Ammo Type, while Void Shard attributes will now be viewable directly on the map. Several Descendants have also seen buffs and fixes like Yujin’s Allergy now applying to a Colossus.

Ultimate Bunny’s “High-Voltage” module also targets nearby enemies instead of random foes with Thrill-Bomb and Lightning Emission. If that wasn’t enough, …

Silent Hill 2 Remake is “Not the End of the Adventure with Konami,” Bloober Team CEO Says

Silent Hill 2’s upcoming remake is continuing to look increasingly promising as we approach its looming release, and though it remains to be seen how well it will ultimately be able to deliver on expectations, it seems like the partnership between Konami and developer Bloober Team has been strong enough that this upcoming remake might not be the last that we see of it.

The same has also been suggested by Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno, in fact, who suggested while recently speaking with Polish outlet Bankier that the the studio will continue to work with Konami beyond Silent Hill 2.

“You can expect that this is not the end of the adventure with Konami,” he said.

Whether that means that Konami and Bloober Team are planni…
