BREAKING NEWS: Valcke sacked by FIFA

Jerome Valcke has been sacked from his position as FIFA secretary general, world football s governing body has confirmed.

The adjudicatory chamber of FIFA s Ethics Committee recently opened formal proceedings against the 55-year-old who was also provisionally suspended from all football-related activities over allegations of corruption and they have now decided to cancel the Frenchman’s contract.

Valcke is alleged to have been linked to a scheme that intended to sell tickets for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil at above their face value, prior to the contract being cancelled before any were sold.

Lionel Messi was welcomed back to Barcelona training ahead of their Champions League match against Chelsea with a round of applause following the birth of his son, Ciro.

Messi missed Barca s routine 2-0 win over Malaga on Saturday, with the club initially stating he was absent for personal reasons .

He announced Ciro s birth the same day, confirming the news on Instagram.

Ciro is Messi s third child with wife Antonella Roccuzzo, following Thiago (2012) and Mateo (2015).

North Carolina Bill Seeks to Prohibit College Player Prop Bets

is the latest state to take a long, cold, hard look at college player prop betting.

Rep. Marcia Morey (D-30) introduced a bill this week to prohibit college player prop betting. Morey hinted on social media in late March that she would be crafting legislation to prohibit these betting markets after a UNC basketball player described several incidents of harassment stemming from bettors upset over his game totals.

The bill comes just several weeks after NCAA President Charlie Baker for all states with legalized sports betting to prohibit college player prop betting.
